I generated graphics for MSU Denver's 2019 MLK Peace Breakfast inspired by synesthesia. While listening to the music of the keynote speaker, Ron Miles, I digitally painted backgrounds in response to what I heard. These were used for printed advertisements in the Metropolitan, promotional posters and event materials. At the event, I was honored to speak to over 400 MSU Denver executives, faculty and staff to explain my artistic process. Markers and a blank page in the program allowed attendees to respond to the "Music of the Movement."
I had the opportunity to showcase my design skills for MSU Denver's 2019 MLK Peace Breakfast. I was honored to speak at the event on behalf of the 2019 committee. I urged over 400 guests, including the MSU Denver President and university senior level executives, to be inspired by the keynote speaker, Ron Miles. As he played I instructed the audience to create something within a space provided in the program. My designs were based around the concept of Synesthesia, the intermixing of the senses. I sought to show the look of how music feels. I was inspired my Miles' music as I created the promotional and event materials and I aimed to pass that inspiration on the the audience at the event. Many guests approached me after the event and told me they were inspired by my speech. I deemed this project a success when the keynote speaker and world renowned musician, Ron Miles, texted me to congratulate me on the hard work I had put into the event.
